Little Fish making big splashes

Little Fish Brewing Company’s anniversary falls right before Ohio Brew Week, and every year they have much to celebrate.

Besides having one of the most amazing farmhouse ale bottle selections of any small brewery, they’ve hit a few other big milestones over the years.

In 2016, Little Fish won “Best New Business” in The Athens News Best of Athens Readers’ Choice Awards. They were named “Best New Brewer” in Ohio by the RateBeer Best awards, TWO years in a row. Which is saying something, because, you know, a ton of new breweries opened in Ohio.

The young facility kept racking up the acclaim, with their Barrel-Aged Woodthrush taking home gold in the “Belgian and French style ale” category at the World Beer Cup in 2016, and Petit Poisson winning bronze in 2018.

Some achievements are even more impressive than shiny gold medals and plaques. In their three years, Little Fish installed a foeder, planted hops, added solar panels and massively expanded their space with a new kitchen, increased production capacity and even a coolship. If you know Sean and Jimmy, you know how much these developments mean to them and their vision.

Little Fish has had something new for us each year at Brew Week. Make sure to like them on Facebook and follow them on Instagram and Twitter to see what they are up to.
