The Ohio University Inn and Conference Center may just be Athens’ most “Athens” hotel. That’s what you get when you combine a beautiful campus location, two restaurants, an affiliation with OU and, of course, convenient lodgings. The OU Inn is proud to be the university’s only on-campus hotel, with all profits going to fund OU programs and projects.

OU-InnThe OU Inn also embodies Athens’ ideals of progress combined with care for the community. This spring the OU Inn renovated all of their guest rooms. Rather than throw out the furnishings, the Athens News reported that the OU Inn partnered with Habitat for Humanity to donate leftover chairs, dressers and other furniture to the organization’s “ReStore” which sells donated goods to generate revenue for future Habitat projects in Southeast Ohio.

The OU Inn is also the traditional host of Ohio Brew Week’s first Friday kick-off event, “Rock-N-Roast.” (Follow the link for details including beer list and menu). Last year the OU Inn unveiled their beautiful new patio, creating the perfect location for the event. The name pretty much says it all: great music, great food and needless to say, some excellent beer. Check out the “Rock-N-Roast” event page at OhioBrewWeek.com for up-to-date details on the party.

Besides “Rock-N-Roast,” guests can dine at the award-winning Cutler’s Restaurant for fine dining, or unwind at the Bunch of Grapes Tavern with more casual fare. Starbucks is also offered on-site to help guests kick-start their day. While it may boast comfortable accommodations for any casual Athens getaway, the OU Inn also means business. With over 5,000 square feet of meetings and event space and a 24-hour business center with state-of-the-art tech, the OU Inn is well-equipped to serve any power traveller’s logistical needs. The picturesque Appalachian setting is also a beautiful setting for a wedding reception and ceremony. Perfect for alumni, students, faculty or OBW attendees, you’ll fit right in at the OU Inn and Conference Center.
