Resurrecting an industry

While it may not have risen from literal ashes, the tale of Phoenix Brewing Company is one of rebirth. The brewery gave new life to a hundred year-old abandoned funeral home and mortuary near the Mansfield pre-prohibition brewery district. The chapel is now the taproom, while the lower embalming level houses the brew equipment. Light streams through theĀ original windows, the walls restored to the brick surface.

Now the only thing that seems to haunt the old mortuary are pleased patrons and quality craft beer. Taste the revival this Ohio Brew Week!
