Ohio University Inn and Conference Center

Campus meets community at the OU Inn and Conference Center

What do you get when you combine a beautiful campus location, two restaurants, an affiliation with OU and, of course, convenient lodgings?

The Ohio University Inn and Conference Center, Athens’ most “Athens” hotel.

The OU Inn is proud to be the university’s only on-campus hotel, with all profits going to fund OU programs and projects.

The OU Inn also embodies Athens’ ideals of progress combined with care for the community. When the OU Inn renovated all of their guest rooms, rather than throw out the furnishings, they partnered with Habitat for Humanity to donate leftover chairs, dressers and other furniture to the organization’s “ReStore” which sells donated goods to generate revenue for future Habitat projects in Southeast Ohio.

The OU Inn is also the annual host of Ohio Brew Week’s first Friday kick-off event, “Rock N’ Roast,” this year on July 12. The name pretty much says it all: great music, great food and excellent beer.

Besides “Rock-N-Roast,” guests can dine at the award-winning Cutler’s Restaurant for fine dining, or unwind at the Bunch of Grapes Tavern with more casual fare. Starbucks is also offered on-site to help guests kick-start their day.

While it boasts comfortable accommodations for any casual Athens getaway, the OU Inn also means business. With over 5,000 square feet of meetings and event space and a 24-hour business center with state-of-the-art tech, the OU Inn is well-equipped to serve any power traveller’s logistical needs.

The OU Inn also houses a gym and an outdoor pool. A ballroom plus a patio with a fire pit and gazebo are available for events and conferences. The picturesque Appalachian setting creates a beautiful scene for a wedding reception and ceremony.

Perfect for alumni, students, faculty or OBW attendees, you’ll fit right in at the OU Inn and Conference Center. Keep it in mind for future Ohio Brew Weeks, or any Athens trip!

Courtside Pizza

A nice slice of Court Street

When Ohio University is in session, Courtside Pizza is one of the premier stops for great deals and good times. That doesn’t change during Brew Week, except the beer selection gets a little more Ohio-centric (although there are always nice craft offerings year-round).

Located at 85 North Court St, Courtside is situated right at the heart of the uptown party scene. You’ll definitely want to swing through and take a seat on the patio with an Ohio brew, and you’ll be able to pair it with an awesome food deal on pizza, sandwiches or sides. We’ll see you there.

Power 105.5

Your hometown station for over 40 years

Power 105 serves the community with local news, weather, school closings and sports. Not to mention the best music of the 80s, 90s and today, what we refer to as “Real Music Variety.”

The flagship station of the Ohio University Bobcats, Power 105 offers chances to win prizes, host shows, support area charities and celebrate the holidays.

Visit the site to listen online and check out advertising opportunities, or, of course, tune in!

Ohio Craft Brewers Association

Unify, market and monitor

The Ohio Craft Brewers Association formed in 2008 as a rallying point for Ohio beer. We’ve got something good going on in this state, the OCBA is here to make sure it stays that way and continues to flourish.  The OCBA promotes everything to do with the craft, from providing training and tools, advocating for breweries, and of making sure it’s all about passion and community.

Head to their site to read about their mission, browse member breweries and check out upcoming events. If you want to support Ohio breweries, we encourage you to become a member!

Hampton Inn

Convenient location and comfort

Hampton Inn on State Street is easily accessible by the major roadways in and out of Athens, and allows you to quickly get to uptown, or get away from it all and hit some nature trails.

Holiday Inn Express

Holiday Inn Express & Suites accommodates visitors and supports local

We here at Ohio Brew Week owe the continued success of the festival to our sponsors. Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Athens has helped our program grow since 2008.

The renovated Holiday Inn continues to provide a welcoming environment to out of town travelers during our festival and year-round.

We get quite a few visitors in Athens for Brew Week. Besides the assorted fest goers, all of those beer industry people need places to stay. Everyone enjoys Athens, and for them, Brew Week is a sort of vacation and industry reunion. The hotel’s friendly support and lodging helps keep us running, and makes sure that you have a chance to enjoy events during the week.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites promises that their staff will go above and beyond to make everyone that walks through the door feel like they are a part of the family. With spacious rooms, healthy breakfast options and pet friendly policy, Holiday Inn Express & Suites is the go-to lodging option. Proving their dedication to community, you can even find locally made gifts in the convenience store.

Accommodations include a large indoor pool, spa and fitness center. Holiday Inn Express & Suites offers quick and easy access to a wide range of businesses on State Street and uptown Athens. Whether you’re heading uptown for Brew Week or hitting some back roads and getting immersed in the beauty of the Appalachian foothills, Holiday Inn Express & Suites is your spot.

Ohio Brew Week thanks Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Athens for over a decade of support!

Holiday Inn Express & Suites is located at 555 East State Street, Athens, Ohio. Call (740) 592-4640, or visit them online to make your reservation.

Fairfield Inn & Suites

Athens’ Fairfield Inn & Suites provides top-notch lodgings

For a small town, Athens hosts some big events. Which makes lodging a matter of critical importance. At Ohio Brew Week, we’re excited whenever there’s a new spot to stay at, as it means more visitors can come and enjoy what we have to offer.

So we were excited a few years ago when Fairfield Inn & Suites opened on East State Street, providing more lodging for Ohio Brew Week attendees and the myriad other events that bring people into our neck of the woods. It’s a huge benefit to have such a great place to stay. We’re fans of anything that helps people make it to and spend quality time in Athens.

And this year Fairfield Inn & Suites are making your Ohio Brew Week experience even smoother, with shuttle service.

They are conveniently located just minutes from Ohio University and most importantly for Brew Week, uptown Athens. There are also many shops and restaurants right by them on East State Street.

Between trips uptown, you can unwind on the beautiful outdoor patio, which includes a gas fire pit and a barbecue grill. Jump-start your day with free breakfast, with hot choices like scrambled eggs and sausage, plus favorites including fresh fruit and yogurt. Amenities include fitness facilities, featuring a pool and exercise room.

At the Fairfield Inn & Suites, you’re the #1 priority. That’s their commitment to you. Ask them about The Fairfield 100% Guarantee.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites is located 924 East State Street, Athens, Ohio. Call 1-740-589-5839 to plan your next trip. They would love to accommodate you for Ohio Brew Week or any of the uniquely Athens events that we’re proud to host down here in Southeast Ohio!

Heidelberg Distributing

Heidelberg connects Ohio with the beer world

As Heidelberg Distributing’s motto goes, “Life roars through us.” And they roar through 300,000 miles each month in Ohio and Kentucky, delivering 18,000 products from a wide range of producers, both beer and otherwise.

Heidelberg Distributing’s story goes back to the early 1900s. Originally a brewery of the same name, the brand revived as a beer and wine distributor. Decades and decades of growth and expansion later, what was once a “one man, one truck” company now boasts locations across Ohio and Northern Kentucky.

At Ohio Brew Week you can try hundreds of beers from dozens upon dozens of Ohio breweries. And those are just the ones that can fit into the taps in Athens. When you factor in the rest of the nation, let alone the world, the scope of craft beer options is head spinning.

That’s why you need a team of dedicated craft beer specialists to help connect you with the brews you need. Heidelberg Distributing can do that, and more.

As for Ohio Brew Week attending breweries, Heidelberg distributes Christian Moerlein, Great Lakes, and Rhinegeist to name a few. Their portfolio includes big-beer brands and other non-Ohio regional favorites such as New Holland, along with renowned Belgian brews such as Petrus by De Brabandere.

So when you raise a glass of beer this week from their wide portfolio, give a toast to Heidelberg Distributing.

Visit their website to explore their brands and get educated about the beer, and more, that Heidelberg Distributing can connect you with. We give a huge thanks to distributors for making this industry work and bringing craft fans their favorite brews.

Fifty West Brewing Company

Fifty West expands east

The brewery is no stranger to Ohio Brew Week, and over the past years we’ve been lucky to have their beer on draft in Athens for the fest. Unfortunately, that one great week in July was pretty much the only time our region could enjoy their brews.

Until now.

Yes indeed, earlier this year Fifty West cans appeared in stores across our region of the state. Besides being able to grab a sixer year-round, this also allows for a bigger presence at Ohio Brew Week since we’re actually in their distribution footprint.

This expansion is no surprise, as Fifty West made it onto The Brewers Association’s list of fastest growing small and independent craft brewing companies of 2018. We’re glad that their growth directly affects beer fans in our neck of the woods!

But the brewery’s growth means more than just six-packs in grocery stores. Fifty West is also opening a brewpub in Chillicothe. The city presently lacks a brewery, making it the perfect place to welcome the well-established Cincinnati beer makers. Chillicothe also sits on U.S. 50, so it’s obviously a meaningful next stop for the expanding brewery. Perhaps by the time you’re reading this, construction will already have started at 1 North Paint Street.

Fifty West represents so much of what is great about this industry. Their annual Punch Out brewery-on-brewery boxing event has garnered a ton of attention for its scale and personality, raising the bar of camaraderie and good-natured competition in an already collaborative industry. Their beers are a welcome sight both on tap for Ohio Brew Week and on our grocery store shelves. We’re happy to have them back at the fest, bigger and better than ever.
